McNamee and Mangan Named to HVWAC All-Conference Team

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Recognizing their outstanding performance on the hardwood in helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's basketball team to a Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Tournament Championship and a 4-1 record in the HVWAC regular season, junior Kelly McNamee (Glendale, NY/Mary Louis) and senior Teresa Mangan (Cleveland, OH/St. Joseph's) have been named to the HVWAC All-Conference Team.

Kelly McNamee receives conference year-end honors for the second straight year and second time in her career. McNamee was third on the team averaging a career-high-tying 8.4 ppg while shooting 43 percent from the field.

McNamee helped the Lady Bears capture the tournament title averaging a team-high 15.5 ppg in the two wins over Berkeley and Albany Pharmacy shooting 52 percent (14-of-27) earning Tournament Most Valuable Player honors for her efforts. The guard also dished out four assists per game.

The junior picked up her play, entering the starting lineup towards the end of the season averaging 13.0 ppg while connecting at an efficient 45 percent (20-of-44) over her last four games as the Lady Bears went 3-1 during the stretch to secure the #2 seed in the HVWAC Tournament. The guard poured in a season-high 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting against Albany Pharmacy.

Mangan finishes her career by picking up her second HVWAC All-Conference selection. The senior guard averaged a career-high 10.4 ppg and was ranked fifth in the conference connecting on 30 percent of her three-pointer making a career-high 45 trifectas.

Mangan was a two-time HVWAC Player of the Week recipient and was also named USCAA Player of the Week in early January. The senior led the Lady Bears dishing out a career-best 3.1 assists per game. Mangan scored a career-high 27 points draining a school-record tying seven three-pointers in St. Joseph's win over Ponoma-Pitzer.

Winners of seven-of-their-last-eight, the Lady Bears (16-10) conclude their season on Wednesday, February 20th when they take on Yeshiva and celebrate Senior Night at Brooklyn Technical High School with tip-off set for 8 p.m.
