Raccuglia Anointed AD3I and HVIAC Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – In recognition of her outstanding performance on the hardwood, junior Taylor Raccuglia (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) has been selected the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Player of the Week after leading the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's basketball team to a triumph over sibling rivals St. Joseph's College (L.I.) on Saturday.

Raccuglia had a career night as the Lady Bears defeated the Golden Eagles, 54-40, to move to 7-3 on the year. The junior finished with her second double-double of the season finishing with a season-high 15 points on 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) shooting. The forward proved to be a stat-sheet stuffer contributing 19 rebounds and five blocks, both one shy of a school record, along with six assists.

Raccuglia's prescence on the defensive end of the floor helped pace a St. Joseph's team that held their rivals, St. Joseph's (L.I.), to only 18.8 percent shooting from the field. The junior is now averaging 10.9 points per game, 8.3 boards per game and leads the team with 2.0 rejections per game.

The junior earns Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career and accumulates the fourth and fifth awards earned by a Lady Bear this season.

The Lady Bears look to continue their strong play as they travel to Colorado Springs on Tuesday, December 31st for a matchup against Northwestern (Minn.) at 3 p.m. Eastern.
