O’Donnell and Kiley Sweep Skyline Women’s Basketball Weekly Accolades

NEW YORK — After leading the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's basketball team to a 2-0 week and their third-straight win, junior Kelly O'Donnell (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) and freshman Emma Kiley (Whitestone, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) were named the Skyline Conference women's basketball Player and Rookie of the Week on Monday morning as announced by the conference office.

O'Donnell maintained her position as the league's top scorer — and now ranks 12th in Division III — averaging 32 points on 20-of-40 shooting (.500) and also averaged 14 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2 blocks. On Tuesday, the junior poured in a career-high 40 points on a 14-for-24 shooting night with five three-pointers in a win over Yeshiva. She scored 28 in the first half — matching Yeshiva's team total — and finished with 15 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and two steals. On Saturday, she netted a team-high 24 and pulled down 13 rebounds in a home win over SJC Long Island for her eighth double-double of the season. A seven-time Rookie of the Week as a freshman and a two-time All-Skyline Conference Team honoree, O'Donnell is selected as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

Kiley picked up her fourth Rookie of the Week of the season posting averages of 22 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Against Yeshiva, she scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while swatting away five shots in just 22 minutes of action. Against SJC Long Island, she netted 19 points and pulled down 14 rebounds while rejecting another quintet of shots. The freshman big still ranks third in Division III with a program single-season record 81 blocks and sits fourth in the Skyline with 10 double-doubles.

St. Joseph's (14-9, 12-6) sit in fourth place heading into the final week of the regular season with two games remaining on the slate. The Bears head to fifth-place College of Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday evening with a shot to secure the No. 4 seed and a first-round home game in the 2020 Skyline Conference Women's Basketball Championship which will begin the following Tuesday.
