Women’s Basketball Earns Road Win Against Farmingdale State

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) women's basketball team claimed a 67-51 road win over Farmingdale State College on Tuesday evening.

How it Happened

A low-scoring first quarter culminated in an 8-8 stalemate.

The Rams (4-16, 3-12) held a 19-12 lead with 5:16 remaining in the second period. Fueled by eight points from Emma Kiley (Whitestone, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) during a 14-0 spurt, the Bears (11-9, 8-7) closed the half with a 26-19 lead.

The tandem of Adrianna Romo-Leroux and Jenna Pignataro brought the hosts to within three, 28-25. However, a three-point gap soon became 20 as Kiley, Aaniya Telford (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall Academy), and Alexis Breen (Union Beach, N.J./Keyport) combined to score 18 third-quarter points; giving the navy and gray a 50-32 advantage going into the fourth.

Despite the Rams edging the Bears in the closing stanza, 19-17, St. Joseph's saw out the 67-51 triumph.
