Giacchi, formerly an assistant coach at Caldwell University, has a successful track record, including leading his team to the NCAA Tournament in 2018. From November 2021 to January 2022, Giacchi stepped in as acting head coach of the Division II institution; picking up his first head coaching win against Mercy College. He posted a 7-5 record in the stretch while his Cougars placed first in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division standings. His side also ranked second in Division II in defensive rebounds.

He added "I look forward to building on the strong foundation in place while staying true to the University's values. I'm so excited to get started."

Giacchi obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Caldwell University and a Master of Science degree from West Virginia University. A native of Totowa, N.J. Giacchi, along with his wife Chelsea, resides in Hazlet, N.J.
