Men’s Club Wrestling Sees First Intercollegiate Action

NEW YORK, NY – The St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn) men’s club wrestling team competed in their first collegiate dual, dropping a 35-12 decision to Yeshiva University on Sunday afternoon at the Max Stern Athletic Center.

Freshman Iqbal Husain opened the dual with a win by fall in his 125 pound bout, pinning his opponent in under two minutes, giving the Bears a 6-0 lead. Yeshiva would come back to take the next six bouts, four by pin, to take a decisive 35-6 lead.

In the final bout of the dual, junior Rashid Hall went the distance with his heavyweight counterpart, before earning the only other victory for the Bears by decision.

St. Joseph’s (0-1), who is competing as a club team, will announce their next match at a later date.
