Gambino Collects USCAA Soccer Player of the Week Honors

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Adding to her HVWAC Soccer Player of the Week honors, Cynthia Gambino (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney) was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Soccer (USCAA) Player of the Week in an announcement made by the Association yesterday.

Gambino recorded seven goals, including game winners against Fisher College and HVWAC foe Berkeley. The junior forward had an efficient .467 shooting percentage and recorded her second career hat-trick during a league win over Yeshiva. She now has a team-leading 12 goals and 25 points.

The USCAA honor is the first ever received by a Lady Bear in their inaugural varsity season.

Gambino and the Lady Bears (5-3-2) have clinched the No. 2 seed for the upcoming HVWAC Tournament with semifinal play scheduled for Sunday, October 28th.
