Women's Soccer Defeated by Mount Saint Vincent

 

RIVERDALE, N.Y. — A Mia Castaneda (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) goal was not enough for the St. Joseph's University, NY (Brooklyn) women's soccer team as they fell to the College of Mount Saint Vincent 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened

The Dolphins (9-3, 7-1) drew first blood,  finding the goal at 13'. The hosts were able to hold the lead for much of the half until Castaneda equalized just before the interval.

Mount Saint Vincent found the game winner in the 53'. At the hour mark, the Dolphins added an insurance goal to see out a 3-1 win.

For the Bears

  • Julia Marin (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) finished with a season-high 12 saves.

  • Castaneda and Katherine Barrios (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) combined for the Bears' seven shots in the match, and four on target.
