Women’s Soccer Drops Road Contest to Rutgers-Newark

NEWARK, N.J. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) women's soccer team was dealt a 4-0 defeat by Rutgers-University Newark on Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened

The Scarlet Raiders (2-0) found the back of the net six minutes into the match and doubled their advantage five minutes later. Despite the hosts pushing to widen the gap throughout the contest, Julia Marin (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) came away with a career-best 14 saves; nine in the first half and five in the second.

Rutgers-Newark capped off the 4-0 result with goals in the 77th and 80th minutes.
