BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) women's soccer team came on the wrong side of a 4-0 result against Manhattanville College on Sunday afternoon from Aviator Field.

How it Happened

Bears goalkeeper Julia Marin (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) denied the Valiants of a breakthrough in the first half, coming up with seven saves to keep the scoreless draw after the opening 45 minutes.

As Manhattanville continued to test the St. Joseph's back line, they broke the stalemate at the hour mark; adding a second in the 67th minute. The Valiants' Jennifer Xiong notched a brace in the final seven minutes to complete their 4-0 win.

For the Bears

  • Marin finished with 17 saves, eclipsing her previous season-best (16).

  • Ashley Pintado (Jackson Heights, N.Y./Christ the King) registered both SJBK shots on the day.
