Women’s Swimming Competes in Second Intercollegiate Meet
PATCHOGUE, NY - Lady Bears swimming continued their inaugural season competing in a double dual meet against St. Joseph's-LI and Mount Saint Vincent on Sunday afternoon at the Danzi Athletic Center in Patchogue, NY. The Lady Bears lost both matches falling 41-32 to St. Joseph's-LI and 55-21 to Mount Saint Vincent.
Highlighting the Lady Bears second competition was freshman Kristen McMaster(Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne) who posted the first ever individual win for St. Joseph's with a time of 0:28.79 in the 50-yard freestyle. McMaster also turned in a second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:08.05.
Junior Jaclyn Collins(Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne) also had a strong swim beating her personal bests in the 200-yard freestyle (2:49.43) and 500-yard freestyle (7:57.47). Freshman Elizabeth Fiorella (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney) also took a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:16.54.
St. Joseph's drops to 0-4 on the season. The Lady Bears are back in the pool on Thursday, February 5 at Old Westbury. The meet is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
