Fiorella Named HVWAC Swimmer of the Week

BROOKLYN, NY – Senior Elizabeth Fiorella (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney) has been named the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week for meets swam through February 5th in an announcement made by the conference earlier this week.  

It is the first time Fiorella has received the honor in her career.  Fiorella also was selected to the All-Conference Team for the first time in her career last week.

Fiorella helped St. Joseph's secure a 52-42 come-from-behind victory over the St. Elizabeth, placing in all three events, capturing first twice and second in the other event..  Fiorella set personal bests in the 200 yard free (2:48.6) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:34.8) and was part of the winning 200 yard free relay team that sealed the victory for the Lady Bears.

Fiorella and fellow seniors Kristen McMaster (Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne Hall), Alison Nunziata (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney), Catherine Muldoon (Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne Hall) and Abigail Verbil (Queens, NY/Christ the King) conclude their senior campaigns celebrating senior night against the College of New Rochelle on Friday, February 17th.  Start time is at 7:30 pm at Brooklyn Technical High School.
