Wong Named HVWAC Swimmer of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Freshman Tina Wong (Brooklyn, NY/HS of Telecommunications Art and Technology) has been named the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week for meets through Sunday, November 25th. The announcement was made earlier today by the conference recognizing Wong for the first time in her young career and the first recognition for a Lady Bear this season.

The freshman led St. Joseph's to three event wins in the Lady Bears narrow loss to Brooklyn College last Tuesday. Wong set two new school records, capturing individual victories in the 200 yard IM (2:52.15) and 500 yard freestyle (7:14.35). In her other event, the freshman helped St. Joseph's capture the opening 200 yard medley relay to take an early lead in the dual meet.

The Lady Bears dive back into the pool on Wednesday, November 28th hosting Lehman College in their 2012-13 home opener at Brooklyn Technical High School. Start time is slated for 7:30 pm.
