Women's Swimming Meet Day: Lady Bears vs. Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- St. Joseph's (1-4) looks to rebound from a pair of losses to SUNY Old Westbury, 62-32, and The College of New Rochelle, 55-43, in their double dual meet on Tuesday facing Brooklyn College (3-5) on Friday night at Brooklyn Technical High School in their home opener at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Bears Last Time Out

St. Joseph's suffered their first ever loss to Old Westbury, 62-32, while falling to New Rochelle, 55-43, for the first time since 2008 hindered by the absence of several key swimmers.

The Lady Bears received a pair of wins from sophomores Tina Wong and Morgan Summers in the 1000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle respectively. Summers set a personal-best 6:30.02 in the 500 free for a one minute triumph while Wong captured the 1000 free by 28 seconds with a time of 16:12.00. Summers also contributed a second place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:41.84) while freshman Julia Dineen finished in second in the 100-yard backstroke.

Lady Bulldogs Last Time Out

Brooklyn notched a 85-44 victory over York to improve to 2-1 in the CUNYAC. The Lady Bulldogs received first place finishes from Ng Ou in the 200-yard IM (2:43.26), Valentina Monroy in the 1,000-Yard Freestyle (13:18.27), Nicole O'Brien in the 200-Yard Freestyle (2:32.79) and Jenny Lee in the 100-yard Butterfly (1:12.53).

Series History/Last Meeting

Brooklyn holds a 3-0 lead in the all-time series having earned a 104-84 victory in the schools' last meeting on November 20, 2012. St. Joseph's received individual victories from Tina Wong and Morgan Summers.
