Women's Swimming Meet Day: Lady Bears vs. St. Joseph's (L.I.)

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- St. Joseph's (1-5) comes off a two-week break looking to get back into the win column as they face sister campus St. Joseph's (L.I.) (1-1) at Brooklyn Technical High School as the opening event of the "East vs. West" Tripleheader at 3 p.m.

Series History/Last Meeting

St. Joseph's (L.I.) holds a 5-0 lead in the all-time series, but the Lady Bears came close last December losing a narrow 51-43 decision to the Golden Eagles in Patchogue. Tina Wong set a new school record in the 100-yard butterfly (1:21.76).

Lady Bears Last Time Out

St. Joseph's suffered a 59-36 setback to borough rival Brooklyn College on Friday, December 6th in their home opener at Brooklyn Technical High School.

The Lady Bears took an early lead winning the opening 200-yard medley (2:19.10) with the quartet of Morgan Summers, Tina Wong, Jaclyn Montana and Rebecca Sacerio earning a four-second victory.

Erin Collins and Wong took home the lone individual event wins. Collins won the 50-yard freestyle by .25 seconds. Wong posted a career-best 7:07.20 in the 500-yard freestyle for a 14-second victory.

Golden Eagles Last Time Out

St. Joseph's (L.I.) finished 14th out of 17 teams in the three-day 2013 Women's ECAC Winter Championships from December 6-8.

The Golden Eagles were led by Gabrielle Zollo who placed 53rd out of over 120 swimmers in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.07).

Lauren Ouzounian paced St. Joseph's (L.I.) in the 100-yard backstroke finishing 35th out of 80 swimmers with a time of 1:06.56.
