O'Hara Named Skyline Swimmer of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Swimming a personal best and leading the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's swimming team to three event wins last week, senior Jillian O'Hara (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) was selected as the Skyline Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week ending November 29, the league office announced today.

In the Lady Bears double dual meet against Old Westbury and the College of New Rochelle last Monday, O'Hara swam a personal-best 1:26.02 in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in first place. The senior, who receives Swimmer of the Week honors for the first time in her career, assisted in two other first place finishes as part of the winning 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay quartets as SJC split the double dual picking up their first victory of the season over former HVIAC rivals New Rochelle.

O'Hara and the Lady Bears return to the pool on Friday, December 4th in a non-conference dual meet at Hunter College starting at 6 p.m.
