Doherty Collects First Skyline Swimmer of the Week Award

NEW YORK — For her strong performance at the dual meet against Kean University on Saturday, senior Shannon Doherty (Brooklyn, N.Y./Churchill) has been named the Skyline Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week announced by the league office earlier today.

The senior was victorious in both her individual events winning the 200-yard freestyle in 2:23.22 and capturing the 100-yard butterfly in 1:11.33. She also helped the 200-yard medley relay squad to a second-place finish.

Doherty is currently undefeated in the 100-yard butterfly in two dual events this season.

The Skyline Swimmer of the Week honor is the first of Doherty's career and the second in program history—Jillian O'Hara last collecting the honor in Nov. 2015.

The Bears (0-3) open their Skyline Conference meet slate on Saturday, November 17 against Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, N.Y. starting at 1:30 p.m.
