Lady Bears Tennis Picks Up First Win Of Season Over City Tech

FLUSHING, NY - St. Joseph's defeated the NYC College of Technology 8-1 in a non-conference match at the US National Tennis Center on Tuesday night. The Lady Bears were dominating from top to bottom to earn their first "W" of the season. The win improves St. Joseph's record to 1-2.

Several Lady Bears also picked up their first singles wins of the season. Junior Jessica Lintner (Queens, NY / Martin Luther) beat Irina Nechaeva at 1st singles and sophomore Veronica Lysenko (Brooklyn, NY / Bishop Kearney) beat Noory Croos at 5th singles, both with a score of 10-2, and senior Danielle Kramer (Queens, NY / Martin Luther) shut out Kimberly Battle at 3rd singles. Senior Tara Deahn (Queens, NY / Martin Luther) won at 2nd singles and 1st doubles to maintain her perfect record on the season (2-0 singles, 2-0 doubles).

The Lady Bears return to action on Sunday, September 28th at 1:00 PM in a cross-campus rivalry at St. Joseph's-Patchogue.
