Brucas Earns First Singles Win as Women’s Tennis Takes Two Off Lehman
BRONX, N.Y. — Kathryn Brucas (Richmond Hill, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) recorded her first singles victory and sophomore Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) extended her win streak to three matches but the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team couldn't deal Lehman College their second loss of the season, falling 6-2 on Thursday evening.

- Sophomore Denise Trerotola and senior Mary Edward teamed up again at No. 1 doubles and won their second straight match, 8-4, over Kanto Rasedoara and Lizaveta Markouskaya and the Bears trailed 2-1 headed into singles.
- Senior Kathryn Brucas was victorious in straight sets at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-4 for her first collegiate singles win. She's 1-0 at the No. 6 position and 1-2 overall.
- Emily Watts seized six games at No. 3 singles in a 6-2, 6-4 losing effort and Edward split the day's matches falling 6-1, 6-4.
- Seeking her second straight singles win, Trerotola was deadlocked with Lynessa George, 4-4, in the top singles match when it was called due to darkness.
