FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — After dropping her opening set in the top singles match at love, sophomore Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) erased an early break in set two and dominated in a super-tiebreaker to notch the lone point for St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) in an 8-1 defeat to Farmingdale State College in a Skyline Conference match on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • Denise Trerotola was blanked by Priscilla Signore in the opening set 6-0 and trailed by a break in set two, before breaking back at 4-4 and forcing a second-set tiebreaker.
  • The sophomore never trailed in the tiebreak to level the match at one set apiece and in the ensuing third set super-tiebreaker, Treotola led from the outset and dominated 10-2 for her first Skyline Conference singles win of the season.
  • The second place Rams surrendered just three games in total in winning the remaining eight flights.
