2017 Women's Tennis Schedule Features Six Matches at US Open Venue

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team will open the season on Wednesday, September 6 with a road match against Lehman College as the 2017 schedule was unveiled by Head Coach Daniel Drossman.

The fall campaign features six of the 12 matches scheduled to be played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, home of tennis' fourth major, the U.S. Open.

Drossman returns for his second season after guiding the Bears to their first Skyline Conference victory and guiding rising junior Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) to First-Team All-Skyline honors in 2016.

The Bears begin Skyline play on September 17 with a road match against Yeshiva University at Queens College and will play back-to-back matches at the National Tennis Center with non-conference tests against The College of New Rochelle (September 19) and Hunter College (September 23).

SJC will face borough rivals Brooklyn College (September 26) before wrapping up the season with five of their last six matches in Skyline play. The team hosts league foes Farmingdale State College (September 30), SJC Long Island (October 7) and Mount Saint Mary College (October 10) at the National Tennis Center.

The four-team Skyline Conference Championships are scheduled to begin with semifinal action on Wednesday, October 18.
