Women’s Volleyball Sweeps City Tech

BROOKLYN, NY – St. Joseph's College Women's Volleyball (3-2) remained undefeated at home with a straight-set victory (25-18, 25-17, 25-19) over City Tech on Thursday night at Brooklyn Technical High School.

The Lady Bears fell behind early in each set, but a season-high team 16 service aces helped regain the lead late in each set.  St. Joseph's committed only five hitting errors and hit .175 for the match.

Yliane Ulloa (Queens, NY/Midwood) led St. Joseph's for the second straight game with four kills and added five digs.  Kathleen McCarthy had a game-high six digs and five aces.  Melissa Simo (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) dished out five assists and had five digs.

Kimberly La Force led the Yellow Jackets with 12 kills and Alma Cabral Reynoso had 10 assists.

St. Joseph's faces Brooklyn College and Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday in a tri-match in Bronxville, NY at Sarah Lawrence College.  The Lady Bears face Brooklyn College at 1:00 p.m. and square off against Sarah Lawrence (1-2) at 2:30 p.m. in an HVWAC matchup.
