Lauren GaNun Selected First-Team All-Skyline Conference

NEW YORK — Capping an outstanding senior campaign and four-year career with the Lady Bears, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) middle hitter Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall) was named First-Team All-Conference as the league announced the 2015 Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball All-Conference Teams earlier today.

GaNun was a force at the net, stuffing a Skyline-leading 0.79 blocks per set and was ranked second in kills per set (4.09) and points per set (4.82) in conference play. She received Player of the Week accolades on October 5th and was named to the weekly conference honor roll four times this season.

The senior middle hitter pounded double-digit kills in 18 of 22 games and crossed the 20-kill mark four times this season, highlighted by a 27-kill, 12-dig double-double in a five-set conference match against Maritime. GaNun hit .400-or-better in five matches, assembling a .262 hitting percentage, fourth-best in the league.

On October 8th at home against John Jay, GaNun became just the second Lady Bear to join the exclusive 1,000-kill club. She finished her four-year career as the all-time SJC Brooklyn leader in attack attempts (3147) and block assists (65); and ranked second in kills (1156), kills per set (3.88), solo blocks (105), total blocks (170), points (1373.5) and points per set (4.6).

A three-time All-Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honoree, GaNun becomes the first SJC Brooklyn student-athlete to receive All-Skyline honors since joining the 11-team league this season.

The all-conference teams are voted on by the Skyline Conference's 11 head women's volleyball coaches.
