Bio

Kim Matthews enters her second season on the sidelines as an assistant coach for the Lady Bears after a brilliant three-year career at her alma mater.

The 2013 graduate of St. Joseph’s concluded her career as a member of the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) All-Independent First Team during her last two years on campus as well as maintaining a place on the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) All-Conference Team in each of her three seasons. Matthews was the Lady Bears’ top all-around player during her three-year career finishing with 685 kills while posting a .134 hitting percentage, with 209 assists, 162 aces, and 842 digs.

During her three years in Brooklyn, Matthews helped lead the Lady Bears to improved win totals in HVWAC play as St. Joseph’s went undefeated in conference play during her senior year.

Matthews has two years of previous coaching experience having coached the 14- and 15-year-old National Teams for Aviator Volleyball Club from 2010 to 2012 during her career with the Lady Bears.

The Breezy Point, N.Y. native received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and currently resides in Breezy Point.
