Cross Country Competes at NJIT Halloween Classic

NEWARK, N.J. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their 2018 campaigns at the Nick Russo Halloween Classic on Sunday morning.

Freshman Alexis Buchanan (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta) was the top finisher for the women while freshman George Garyfallos (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) paced the men.

Buchanan finished in 14th overall against a field of 28 with a 5-kilometer time of 22:22.63 with Shannon Doherty (Brooklyn, N.Y./Churchill) crossing two places behind her in 23:49.80.

Garyfallos logged a 5-kilometer time of 22:11.59 to take 27th place overall leading a pack of six Bears. Stephane Etheart (Hollis, N.Y./St. Francis Prep), D'Nellio Bennet (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and Israel Bautista (Forest Hills, N.Y./Forest Hills) followed in 30th through 32nd place.
