Cross Country Opens Season at Purchase Invitational

PURCHASE, N.Y. —  The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's and women's cross country teams ran their first meet of the season at the Purchase College Invitational on Saturday morning.

Senior Alexis Buchanan paced the women's team to a fourth-place finish out of five teams covering the five-kilometer course in 25:13 to take 16th place. Junior Raquel Ramirez crossed second for the women in 27th place with a time of 29:55.

Aaron De Leon was the top finisher for the men in 37th place posting a time of 42:34 on the eight-kilometer loop. George Garyfallos followed him in 41st place in 45:24.

The Bears return to action on Saturday, September 25th competing in the College of Staten Island Invite at Cloves Lake Park.
