Cross Country Opens Season at Purchase Invitational

PURCHASE, N.Y. — Joell McKeon (Narrowsburg, N.Y./Sullivan West) and junior Aaron De Leon were the top finishers for the Bears as the St. Joseph's University, NY (Brooklyn) men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2022 season at the Purchase College Invitational.

McKeon clocked in at 30:45 for the 5-kilometer course to pace the women to a 10th-place finish. Freshman Kristen Donovan (Queens, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) was second across the line for St. Joseph's in 31:02 and senior Raquel Ramirez (Queens, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) followed in 31:51.

De Leon covered the 8-kilometer men's course in 42:26 and Matthew Arcati was second for the navy and gray in 51:16.

The Bears return to action on Sunday, September 25, previewing the 2022 Skyline Championship course, the Hudson Valley Sportsdome, in the Mount Saint Mary Invitational.
