The Bears dropped a straight-set decision to the Cardinals, 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-11), on April 2, 2013 at York. St. Joseph's setter Iqbal Husain managed to register eight assists while Urshela tallied five kills and six digs in the defeat but the Bears struggled to make the most of their attacks posting a -.175 attack percentage.

Last Time Out: Urshela slammed 17 kills and Husain dished out 30 assists leading St. Joseph's to a straight-set, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-21) victory over Cooper Union on Friday evening at Simon Baruch Middle School in both squads season openers.

Last Time Out: The Cardinals swept NYU-Poly and Mount Ida College at home in a dominating effort to level their record at 2-2. York hit .352 over both matches, while holding opponents to a negative hitting percentage and were never threatened in either match.

The Cardinals opened the season with a pair of losses against two ranked squads falling 3-1 to #10 NYU and dropping a straight-set decision to defending national champion #1 Springfield College. Leszek Stankiewicz paces a balanced attack with four Cardinals registering over 20 kills on the young season followed closely by Randy Adams who also leads the team from the service line.
