Multi-time HVIAC Player of the Week Raul Urshela leads the way for St. Joseph's on the offensive end with 118 kills and 3.18 kills per set. The junior also has 53 digs and 11 blocks on the season and topss the Bears with a .146 hitting percentage.
Helping orchestrate the offense is senior setter Iqbal Husain who has a team-high 189 assists on the year and averages 5.11 assists per set. Husain also is third on the team with 51 digs and has three kills on the year.
Sophomore Taso Kostikas provides another offensive force for St. Joseph's with 47 kills and leads the team with 13 service aces and has eclipsed 100 digs on the career.
About the Maccabees
Last Time Out: The Maccabees swept Medgar Evers College (25-8, 25-12, 25-18) in a contest at the Max Stern Athletic Center for their fourth victory on the season.
Menachem Goldstein paces the Yeshiva offensive attack with 2.63 kills per set and 84 kills on the season. He hits an efficient .241 percentage, good for eighth in the Skyline Conference.
Yeshiva also gets contributions from Adam Rhodes, who leads the team with 267 assists (sixth in the Skyline Conference). Jared Rechnitz is second on the team with 83 kills, and is in the top ten in the conference in service aces.
