Top 10 Moments – #3 Perfection… Repeated

Top 10 Moments – #3 Perfection… Repeated

The perfect game is arguably one of the most difficult feats to accomplish in baseball or softball, along with hitting for the cycle or the triple play.  Senior Alyson Chiaramonte tossed two this season in back-to-back starts, assembling a streak of 50 consecutive batters retired (over three games) which ranks among one of the most impressive individual feats recorded by a St. Joseph's student-athlete in history.

The four-time USCAA All-American's softball accomplishments have been well documented throughout her storied four-year career, as Chiaramonte rewrote most of the Lady Bears softball record book and owns all five perfect games in St. Joseph’s College history.

On April 13, 2012, Chiaramonte struck out 13 of 15 Sarah Lawrence batters faced in a
14-0, five-inning victory.  Two days later, she continued her dominance in the circle, retiring all 21 John Jay batters in a 6-0 triumph, marking the first-and-only seven-inning perfect game in Lady Bear history.  The victories also helped the Lady Bears match a program-best 15 game winning streak.
