Anthony Langone Named AD3I Baseball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, MO – In recognition of his outstanding play for the week ending April 26, freshman Anthony Langone(Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) was named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) baseball Player of the Week in an announcement released by the association yesterday. 

This is his first time receiving the honor and the third Bear to receive the honor this season alongside Joseph Boccia (Westwood, NJ/Westwood) and Jon Mendez (Brooklyn, NY/Xavarian).  St. Joseph's has captured the accolade in three of the six weeks this season.

Langone, a freshman first baseman, led the Bears offensively amassing a .500 batting average (7-for-14), .643 slugging percentage and .611 on-base percentage over a five-game stretch.  He scored five runs and drove in three, with two doubles, four walks and three stolen bases.

Langone's week was highlighted by a 3-for-3 performance in a losing effort against Newbury College where he had two doubles, one RBI and one run.
