Merchant Marine Takes Rubber Match from Baseball
KINGS POINT, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) baseball team (0-9, 0-6 Skyline) fell to the United States Merchant Marine Academy in the third and final game of their series by a final score of 13-5 on Monday night from Bartoszek Field.

How It Happened
The Mariners jumped out to an early lead in the first inning to tag Bears starter C.J. Bunnicelli (0-2) for four runs on as many hits. SJC quickly answered in the second as a leadoff triple by William DeLuca and a double by Louis Lombardi brought the Bears within a run.

USMMA scored their fifth run in the fourth on a single by Brayden O'Connell before plating five runs in the third to take the 10-3 advantage.

The Bears would cut their deficit in half in the sixth thanks to Kevin Reyes' RBI triple before scoring on DeLuca's second base knock of the night.

The hosts brought in a pair of runs on a triple of their own in their end of the stanza, going up 13-5 in the seventh to cap off the scoring in the game and to complete the series sweep of the Bears.
