NEW YORK, NY – In reports released by the Hudson Valley Men’s and Women’s Athletic Conferences earlier this week, senior guard Lew Monaco was named Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and sophomore Kristen McMaster was named Women’s Swimmer of the Week for action ending December 13, 2009.

KANSAS CITY, MO – In a press release announcing the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Men's Basketball All-Independent Teams, Justin Gist (Newsome, FL/Newsome) was selected AD3I Second Team All-Independent and Jon Matzelle (Maspeth, NY/St. Francis Prep) was selected AD3I Honorable Mention All-Independent.
Three Named to USCAA All-American, All-Academic Teams

UNIONTOWN, PA – The USCAA announced the members of the 2009-10 All-American and All-Academic Teams on Tuesday night at the USCAA National Championship banquet at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) and Justin Gist (Newsome, FL/Newsome) were given Honorable Mention All-American and Tara Gleason (Woodside, NY/Stella Maris) was named to the All-Academic Team.

ALBANY, NY –The St. Joseph’s College men’s basketball team captured their second Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference championship, defeating #3 Vaughn College 78-62. Junior Justin Gist (Newsome, FL/Newsome) scored 27 points and was named tournament MVP.

ALBANY, NY – Junior Justin Gist (Newsome, FL/Newsome) scored a game-high 27 points and senior Mike Dziewit (Ridgewood, NY/Wadleigh) added 13 to lead the St. Joseph’s College men’s basketball team to the 2010 Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference championship game, defeating Culinary Institute of America 73-58 on Saturday afternoon at the Albert M. White Gymnasium.

LANCASTER, PA – The St. Joseph’s College men’s basketball team fell to the Lancaster Bible Chargers 80-61 in an AD3I contest on Saturday afternoon at the Horst Athletic Center. Lancaster Bible opened with a 15-4 run and the Bears were unable to keep pace with Chargers who shot 49 percent for the game.
