Louison Nabs AD3I and HVMAC Player of the Week Honors

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Sophomore David Louison (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund Prep) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Player of the Week after recording his second 20-point, 20-rebound performance of the season.

Louison posted his 13th double-double of the season scoring a season-high 24 points and grabbing a career-high-tying 20 rebounds, both game highs, during a victory over Lancaster Bible. Over the week that St. Joseph's went 2-0 and extended their winning streak to four games, the forward averaged 18.5 points and 14.5 rebounds, while shooting 50 percent (15-30) from the floor.

The sophomore is currently ranked No. 5 in Division III averaging 11.8 rpg and his 13 double-doubles ranks him No.8 in the nation in that category. Louison is shooting an efficient 48% from the field and has led the team in scoring a team-high 11 times.

Also recognized by the HVMAC was freshman guard/forward Michael Megafu (Brooklyn, NY/Nazareth Regional) who was named to the conference's honor roll after averaging 11.0 points, and 16.0 rebounds last week helping the Bears to a 2-0 mark. The three-time Rookie of the Week recorded his 14th double-double of the season posting 16 points, 15 caroms and three blocks in a victory over Lancaster Bible.

This is the fourth time this season that Louison has been named AD3I Player of the Week and is the first time this season he has gained the HVMAC top honors. The weekly AD3I accolade is the seventh for the Bears with Megafu having won the award twice and freshman Matt O'Neill (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund Prep) taking home the hardware last month. The HVMAC honor is the third earned by a Bear this season with O'Neill having taken home the award last month and Megafu being the recipient in December.

St. Joseph's concludes their regular season with a matchup tonight at Clinton Hill rival and HVMAC foe Pratt Institute with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m.
