Louison Declared HVIAC Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – In recognition of his outstanding performance on the hardwood, junior David Louison (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) has been named the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Player of the Week after helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball team to a 1-1 mark.

Louison was the spark plug of a St. Joseph' s team that picked up an 87-84 overtime win over CCNY on Monday and dropped a narrow 85-78 decision to Drew on Saturday. The junior started off the week recording his fifth double-double of the season against the Beavers finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out three assists as the Bears extended their winning streak to four games to move a season-high two games over .500.

The forward concluded his week with an impressive outing versus Drew University pouring in a season-high 30 points on a blistering 12-of-20 (60 percent) shooting from the floor while corralling nine rebounds. Louison finished the week averaging a team-high 24.5 points per game while shooting an efficient 20-of-40 (50 percent) from the floor. The junior also snagged 9.5 rebounds per game and added 2.5 helpers per contest.

Louison earns Player of the Week honors from the HVIAC for the second week in a row and is now a three-time recipient of the award this season. The HVIAC weekly honor is the fifth earned by a Bear this season as frontcourt partner Michael Megafu (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) is a two-time winner of the award.

St. Joseph's (7-6) returns to the floor tonight travelling upstate to take on a streaking Vassar College (7-1) team at 8 p.m.
