Louison Anointed AD3I and HVIAC Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) have named David Louison (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) their Player of the Week after the junior led the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball in scoring as the Bears went a perfect 4-0 on the week.

Sophomore Greg Beehler (Breezy Point, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) was named to the weekly HVIAC honor roll after averaging 6.8 points per game on 45.5 percent shooting and grabbed 4.2 boards.

Louison continued his excellence on the hardwood, averaging 18.5 points per game on a dazzling 68.8 percent (33-of-48) shooting as St. Joseph's improved to a season-high five games over. 500. The junior brought down 11.0 rebounds per game to record three double-doubles on the week, upping his season total to 11.

The forward had his best game of the week at Medgar Evers College, finishing with 27 points and 11 rebounds, going 13-of-17 (76.5 percent) from the floor. Louison would conclude the week with back-to-back double-doubles against Vaughn College and Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Thursday and Saturday.

Against the Warriors, the junior poured in 18 points to go along with 12 rebounds and two blocks. Louison capped off the week with a 25-point, 12-rebound outing against the Panthers as the Bears remained undefeated in HVIAC play with a 71-53 victory.

Louison earns the Player of the Week accolade from both AD3I and the HVIAC for the fifth time this season and third week in a row from AD3I. The junior along with frontcourt teammate Michael Megafu (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) have teamed up to earn eight weekly honors from AD3I and seven from the HVIAC.

St. Joseph's (13-8) returns to action tonight, hosting HVIAC foe Sarah Lawrence College at 7:30 p.m. as they look to secure their first regular season conference title since the 2009-10 season.
