Louison Picked for Reese's Division III All-Star Game and Garners D3Hoops.com All-Atlantic Region Honors
BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Capping off his outstanding four-year career on the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball team, David Louison will have one final game in a Bears uniform, selected for the Reese's Division III College All-Star Game. The senior adds to his long list of accolades named to the D3Hoops.com All-Atlantic Region Second Team.
Earlier today, the National Association of Basketball Coaches released the rosters for the College All-Star game which will be played on Saturday, March 21 at 12:30 p.m., prior to the NCAA Division III Championship game, at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia.
Louison was one of two student-athletes selected last week via fan vote on D3Hoops.com, with over 4,600 votes as the top vote receiver. The senior will join eight other seniors representing the East All-Star team led by former Wabash coach Mac Petty.
"There are so many Division III seniors nationwide that are as equally deserving of this selection as I am, so having the opportunity to play in this All-Star Game is an extremely humbling honor," commented Louison on the selection. "I couldn't have possibly reached this point without the season-long support of my teammates, family, friends, and the entire SJC athletics program."
Leading the team to an 18-10 mark this season and a USCAA National Championship tournament berth with 16.6 points, 11.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, Louison becomes the second Bear to receive All-Region honors, following Michael Megafu's second team selection last season.
A career 1,698-point scorer and the active Division III leader with 1,195 rebounds and 60 double-doubles, the St. Edmund Prep product has already collected this season CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America First Team, USCAA Student-Athlete of the Year and HVIAC Player of the Year honors.
The Brooklyn native was named a three-time USCAA First Team All-American and a four-time All-HVIAC and All-Independent selection.
