Bears Soccer Concludes Season With Loss to CCNY

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's soccer team concluded their sophomore campaign with dropping a 4-0 decision to the City College of New York on Wednesday evening at the Aviator Sports Complex.

The Bears finish with a 3-10 record, a two-win improvement over last year's inaugural season. CCNY ends their season with an 8-9-3 record, snapping a two-game skid.

CCNY maintained a 23-6 advantage in shots for the contest and scored three goals before halftime. Kazuhide Kosugi scored the game winner for CCNY in the 25th minute, dribbling up the middle of the Bears defense to find a seam and firing a shot from the top of the box.  Four different Beavers found the back of the net, with Alin Sandru, Kevon DeLandro and Mike Beick-Baffour tallying the other goals.

CCNY also distributed a season-best eight assists with Bertrand Oubida and Tayfun Kucuk each finishing with three assists.

For St. Joseph's, sophomore Deleon Johnson (Toronto, Canada/Roosevelt) logged four of the Bears six shots, two coming on goal. Sophomore Michael Miner (Schenevus, NY/Schenevus) finished with five saves in defeat.
