Men's Soccer Overpowered By Mount Saint Vincent

YONKERS, N.Y. – An undefeated College of Mount Saint Vincent team was too much for the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's soccer team handing the Bears a 3-0 road defeat in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at Tibbets Brook Park.

The Dolphins (9-0) took control from the outset and held the Bears (0-3) without an official shot for the entire contest.

The hosts struck first in the 10th minute on a Victor Ramirez goal, his eighth of the season, and Jorge Chavez tacked on another goal in the 24th minute to take a 2-0 lead at the intermission. Kevin Jardines rounded out the scoring with the lone goal in the 2nd half in the 54th minute and was the top point scorer assisting on the game-winner.

For the contest, the Dolphins maintained a 22-0 shot advantage with 12 coming on frame, as St. Joseph's goalkeeper Michael Miner (Schenevus, N.Y./Schenevus) finished with nine saves.

St. Joseph's returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 28 for their Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The Panthers currently sit atop the league standings with a 3-0 mark. The men's game will start at 3 p.m. as the featured game of a doubleheader, following the women's game at 1 p.m.
