Yeshiva Denies Men's Soccer First League Win

TEANECK, N.J. — In a matchup of two teams battling for their first league win, Yeshiva University broke open a one-goal game at half and dealt the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's soccer team a 4-0 setback in Skyline Conference play on Tuesday evening.

How It Happened

• The Maccabees drew first blood just three minutes as Julian Ribak put away the first shot of the game for the hosts for the lone tally in a closely played first half. Yeshiva held an 8-6 edge in shots, but the Bears dominated 8-2 in corner kicks.
• Alberto Benhamu scored an insurance goal less than four minutes into the second stanza which deflated any momentum for a comeback as Yeshiva controlled the period with a 12-3 shot advantage.
• Ribak put away any hopes of a comeback scoring two quick goals in less than two minutes for the final 4-0 deficit.

For the Bears

• Led by Pandeli Mano's pair of shots, eight different Bears registered a shot, prompting six Yeshiva saves.
• Julian Rodriguez made four saves in a losing effort in his first game back after missing five due to injury.
