Men's Soccer Beaten by Farmingdale State

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. ⁠— The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's soccer team (4-9-1, 2-4 Skyline) suffered a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Farmingdale State College (8-6, 5-1 Skyline) on Saturday afternoon in Skyline Conference play.

How it Happened

Carlos Rivera was involved in the opening two goals of the game for the Rams; assisting in the fifth minute and scoring in the 12th. While the Rams did not surrender their lead, the Bears came close to cutting the deficit in half; courtesy of eight shots with four coming off the foot of sophomore Joseph Sepulveda (East Elmhurst, N.Y./Bayside).

Less than ten minutes into the second half, the Rams took a 3-0 lead. Rivera extended the lead to 4-0 in the 60th minute. Five minutes later, in the 65th minute, the FSC scored the first of two goals in an eight-minute span to give themselves the 6-0 victory.

For the Bears

  • Alejandro Oliveros (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grover Cleveland) outsaved his goalkeeping opposition, 7-2.
  • Sepulveda racked up four shots with two coming on target.
  • Mohamed Ndiaye Jr. (Senegal, West Africa/Washington Irving) took one less shot than Sepulveda, coming in second on the team
