Bio

Adam Brunengo was introduced as the third head coach in program history in August 2018.

Brunengo comes to Brooklyn after a successful nine-year run as the varsity boys soccer coach at Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School in East Elmhurst where he led the Crusaders to five CHSAA "A" Division city titles in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Prior to taking over at his alma mater, Brunengo was a volunteer assistant coach at C.W. Post (now LIU Post) in 2008. A USSF-licensed coach, he has extensive club coaching experience as the pre-academy coach at the Blau Weiss Gottschee organization since 2005 and a two-year stint as the head coach of the N.Y. Pancyprian Freedoms men's reserve team and assistant coach of the first team from 2013 to 2015.

After a successful high school career at McClancy where left as the program's career assist leader and also led the Crusaders to the CHSAA title in 2000, Brunengo began his collegiate playing career at Division II St. Thomas Aquinas. After leading the team in points and goals his freshman season, he also earned All-Rookie Team honors. After two seasons with the Spartans, he concluded his career at C.W. Post, helping the 13th-ranked Pioneers to the NCAA Tournament in 2006 and was named captain his senior year, graduating with a bachelors in marketing and management.

Outside of soccer, Brunengo is a spanish teacher at McClancy and resides in Forest Hills, Queens.
