Men’s Tennis Takes Third At HVMAC Championships

FLUSHING, NY – Senior Ed Han (McLean, VA/W.T. Woodson) and sophomore Muhammad Ali Bhatti (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) both earned runner-up finishes in both their respective singles tournaments and paired together in doubles, leading the St. Joseph’s College men’s tennis team to a third place finish at the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Tournament on Saturday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center.

BROOKLYN, NY – In a week where the St. Joseph’s College men’s tennis team picked up their first two wins of the season, freshman Mahmoud Elsayed (Egypt/Assediq International) was named Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Tennis Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 25th as announced by the conference earlier this week.

BROOKLYN, NY – In a match that was suspended for nearly a week due to rain, the St. Joseph’s College men’s tennis team took a 7-2 victory over City Tech on Thursday night. Recently named HVMAC Player of the Week Ed Han (McLean, VA/W.T. Woodson) and Muhammad Ali Bhatti (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) led the Bears winning their singles matches and pairing up for a win at doubles.

BROOKLYN, NY – The St. Joseph’s College men’s tennis team dropped matches to Brooklyn College on Wednesday and York College on Thursday both by a score of 6-3. Senior Ed Han (McLean, VA/W.T. Woodson) went undefeated over the stretch, winning both his individual matches and both doubles matches.

FLUSHING, NY – The St. Joseph’s College men’s tennis team opened their 2010 season dropping a 7-2 decision to Yeshiva University (1-3) at the USTA National Tennis Center on Wednesday evening. Sophomore Muhammad Ali Bhatti (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) carried the Bears in defeat, picking up St. Joseph’s only two points in the match.
