Three Singles Matches Go The Distance but Men's Tennis Falls Short at SJC Long Island

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — Senior Carlos Mayorga (East Elmhurst, N.Y./St. John's Prep) collected his team-leading fifth singles win of the season and three Bears pushed their singles opponents in close three-set matches, but the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team fell on the wrong side of a 7-2 decision against sibling rivals St. Joseph's (Long Island) in a Skyline Conference matchup on Sunday afternoon.
