Smalley Wins Twice as Men’s Tennis Battles Brooklyn College
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Junior Alec Smalley (Fresh Meadows, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) took a pair of convincing wins at singles and doubles and Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) won in straight sets at singles but the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision borough rivals Brooklyn College on Thursday afternoon at the Roosevelt Tennis Courts.

- Alec Smalley teamed up with Israel Bautista to post the first point of the day on the board taking their No. 3 doubles match at love, 8-0.
- Matthew Smith and Denise Trerotola played a hard-fought match at No. 2 doubles, but fell 8-6 giving the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead headed into singles.
- Trerotola dispatched Kevin Gryka in straight sets at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0 for her second singles victory in three matches.
- Smalley soon followed with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at No. 4 singles that knotted the overall match at 3-3.
