NEW YORK, NY – The St. Joseph’s College men’s volleyball team wrapped up their 2011 season with a straight set loss to top-seeded Yeshiva University on Thursday night in the semifinals of the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference Tournament.

BROOKLYN, NY – In their final regular season match, St. Joseph’s volleyball gave all they had, but couldn’t pull out a victory over Webb Institute. The two teams met a little over a week ago with Webb coming out on top 3-1. This was another close Hudson Valley Conference match, but the Bears ultimately fell three sets to zero.

RIVERDALE, NY – For the first time in his career, sophomore Martin Torres (Ozone Park, NY/St. Francis Prep) has been named the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The announcement was made on Tuesday before the Bears took on Mount Saint Vincent.

BROOKLYN, NY – St. Joseph’s came out firing in the first set of their volleyball match against City Tech, but the victory slipped through their fingers as City Tech took that set and the following two to sweep the match 3-0. The Bears ended the match with 15 kills, their second most in a match this season.

BROOKLYN, NY – St. Joseph’s men’s volleyball team came out with a spirited effort Monday night, but it wasn’t enough to overcome HVMAC foe, Cooper Union. The Bears fell in straight sets – 25-12, 25-9, 25-21.

BROOKLYN, NY – For the second time in as many weeks, St. Joseph’s men’s volleyball fell against CUNYAC and Brooklyn rival, Medgar Evers. The Bears lost 3-0 back on March 2nd and Monday night was more of the same as the Cougars blanked the Bears once again.

NEW HAVEN, CT – The St. Joseph’s College men’s volleyball team traveled to New Haven, Connecticut over the weekend to compete in a weekend tri-match with Albertus Magnus and Mount Saint Vincent. The Bears fell 0-3 in both sets and are now 0-6 (0-1 HVMAC) on the year.

BROOKLYN, NY – Men’s volleyball continued their winless start Friday night against York at Brooklyn Technical High School. The Cardinals defeated the Bears in straight sets 13-25, 6-25, 13-25. St. Joseph’s falls to 0-4 on the season and 0-1 in the HVMAC.
