Willis' Season-High Kills Not Enough as Medgar Sweeps Series With Men's Volleyball

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team (0-6) set season highs in points (47) for the second straight match but couldn't avenge an earlier home loss to Medgar Evers falling in straight sets on Thursday evening (25-19, 25-9, 25-19).

Senior Alec Willis (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by the Sea) slammed a season-high six kills and eight digs. He also added one service ace and three assists. Sophomore Stephen Eddy (Glendale, N.Y./Christ the King) had a team-high 11 digs, while also pitching in two service aces and one helper.

Sophomore Tim Driscoll (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) generated one kill, five distributions, and four digs for the Bears. Junior Sean Salmon (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) posted two kills, landed one ace and brought up three digs.

Medgar Evers (4-3) was led by Enmanuel Jaquez, who had a shared team-high of eight kills with Johan Jimenez. Jaquez added 16 digs and five service aces. Jimenez pitched in an extra 10 digs and three service aces. Kareem Cyrus helped his teammates out with a match-high 27 assists.
