Men’s Volleyball Tripped Up by CCNY

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team (0-7) suffered a straight-set setback (25-13, 25-16, 25-17) to City College of New York (3-1) at The Hill Center on Tuesday evening. Senior Tim Driscoll (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) paced SJC with seven kill and three aces.

How It Happened

CCNY led from the outset of the first set holding the Bears to just two kills while slamming 14 at nearly a .400 clip. The Bears started to get the offense going in the second and third with Driscoll knocking three kills each frame and the SJC taking brief leads early in both sets, but couldn't keep pace with the visitors who totaled 33 kills and 14 aces in the match.  

For the Bears

  • Tim Driscoll finished with double-digit points pounding seven kills paired with three aces.
  • Sean Salomons (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) added three kills and a solo block.
  • Stephen Eddy (Glendale, N.Y./Christ the King) chipped in two kills
  • Timothy Boyd (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) handed out 11 assists with four digs.
