Alyson Chiaramonte Receives AD3I Softball Player of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, MO. – For her efforts in a week where St. Joseph's College softball went 3-0 and a first place finish in the Gallaudet Invitational Tournament, freshman pitcher/outfielder Alyson Chiaramonte (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) was named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Softball Player of the Week.

In the three games on the week, Chiaramonte batted .583 (7-for-12) and recorded nine RBIs, six runs, one home run and a triple.  She also accumulated a 1.000 slugging percentage.

In her only start in the circle, Chiaramonte pitched a complete game, two-hitter in a 10-1 win over Gallaudet.  She struck out seven and allowed only one earned run as she improved to 2-2 on the season.

Last week, Chiaramonte was also named Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for her performance during the Tucson Invitational Tournament.
