Chiaramonte & Sideli Capture Weekly Accolades

BROOKLYN, NY – In announcements released earlier this week, sophomore Alyson Chiaramonte (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) was selected as Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Softball Player of the Week and Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week and freshman Andrea Sideli (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney)was named HVWAC Softball Rookie of the Week for games ending April 25th.

Chiaramonte had another dominating week in the circle earning two wins in the circle and compiling a 0.58 ERA, striking out 20 and walking none.  During the win over Old Westbury, she fired a two-hitter and struck out a season-high matching 12 batters.  Chiaramonte was also hot at the plate, batting .615 (8-for-13) and extending her hitting streak to 21 games (now at 23).  It is the second straight week and the third time this season receiving the honor.

 

Sideli had the finest week of her rookie season recording a .417 batting average (5-for-12) and .500 slugging percentage, accumulating four runs batted in, two runs scored a double and a walk.  It is her first time receiving the honor.
